Welcome to the Opioid Calculator
The FACULTY of PAIN MEDICINE of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FPM ANZCA) is the peak body responsible for the education, training, continuing professional development and maintenance of standards of clinical practice for Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians in Australia and New Zealand.

Conversion Pages
Select the +/- to set the pre–set opioid amount. Reset button resets the opioid amount. The morphine equivalent dose is shown under each agent and total daily oral morphine equivalent dose is displayed in coloured bar at top of screen. Once you set the values, select on the Convert button.
To change the displayed list of opioids go to Setup.

Equianalgesic Dose
This page displays the selected agent, total calculated Equianalgesic dose and total daily oral Morphine. Under this dose are calculated conversion doses reduced by the listed percentage.
All doses are displayed in coloured bars utilising the Green, Amber and Red "traffic light system" to highlight potential dose safety concerns. Additional notes on dose conversion are included.
Setup Preferences
From the "Setup Preferences" page you are able to select the combination of opioids most suited to your use. You may choose "All" opioids or one of the lists for "Hospital" practice or for primary care practice in AU, NZ, or US. Finally you are able to customise your own list. To do this, select / deselect each individual opioid. Only the selected opioids will be displayed when using the website.
